One of the best things about social media is how affirming it can be. I mean, anyone and everyone has the ability to tell their own story. What I love most about various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is how vividly folks are able to show up as they desire.
In the 2017 edition of this LGBTQ-affirming faith-based issue, I had a young man answer the question “WHY DO I STAY?” In it, he spoke of power and sense of purpose he felt and still feels in being a part of the traditional church and its connection to our Culture, with a capital “C.”
It doesn’t matter who you are. It would be nearly impossible for you to not have gained some weight in 2020. No, I’m not speaking about the weight from putting food in our mouths and not working out.
This has got to be one of the hardest things for me to write, but after almost 13 years of working with SWERV Magazine, my time here as Editor -At-Large has come to an end. The SWERV experience for me has been an opportunity of a lifetime.
